Well it's almost Halloween, and tomorrow is Beggers Night in Columbus Ohio and Sunday in Grandview Heights. The best thing to give those little ghouls and goblins is something they REALLY can sink their fangs into and what they REALLY want, Why not give them WHITE CASTLE GIFT CERTIFICATES!!!
Who cares about those inferior copycat Hamburger chains with their cartoon kings and clowns and third rate and questionable quality beef? Who really wants to stand in line at a resturant where crabby employees are paid to beg you to buy more when all you really want is the ORIGINAL burger (Since 1921!) Grade A beef steam grilled on a bed of tasty (mmmmmm) onions. Sure they may have nice playgrounds and TeeVees playing the kids favorite shows (Selling you MORE CRAP!!) and their Kiddie Meals may have the latest "Fad" Toy (But Moms and Dads....The kids are JUST gonn want you to go back next week and get the Next one) But all you want is A BURGER AND FRIES!! So run down to your local Castle today and buy a bunch of Gift Certificates (Get a bunch at about $2 apiece on the cards! That'll make the kiddies happy!) And if they no longer offer those JUST HAVE A COUPLE CRAVE CASES AND GIVE 'EM THOSE INSTEAD!!!

I have been nominated into the "Cravers Hall of Fame" and a big THANK YOU goes out to those who nominated me!! I recieved a beautiful pin,  lovely card and a personal phone call from White Castle Headquarters, who went on to say how they are aware of me and my LOVE for White Castles!! My anniversary in Columbus Ohio is on October 31st and White Castles is the reason I migrated to Ohio from Battle Creek Michigan that cold rainy October morning with nothing but $55 and a small backpack and an old book full of White Castle ads and articles!
As you all know, my cat was named Slyder and was born in March (So was White Castle!! March 1921 to be exact!!)

Last week I was at the BEST white castle in Columbus...And heres the Review!!

This was a Very good Experience! 
The Resturant was clean...And I mean SPARTAN!! Restrooms were Sparkling and the Staff was Smiling and Courteous! 
I was allowed to use as many gift coupons as i wanted and no one asked why I had so many!! The food was HOT!! (not luke warm like at the Other Resturant I reviewed) And the food was served Quickly and not in 19 minutes like the OTHER Resturant! Everyone who reads this who live in Columbus should go to THIS one and NOT the Other one!!

White Castle, ever considerate of its customers, offers air fresheners as part of a new promotional event. They are free for a limited time to any customer who purchases a sack of 10 hamburgers.
In addition, nearly 3,000 cab drivers in Chicago, Detroit and St. Louis will receive a White Castle Air Freshener Kit that includes not only a free White Castle air freshener, but also a coupon for five free White Castle hamburgers.
The air fresheners are available in three fun designs and scents—lemon- line, vanilla and outdoor breeze. Offer is available for a limited time only while supplies last at White Castle restaurants.

[2010-07-28]   The board of directors of White Castle System, Inc. has promoted Dave Rife to the position of assistant vice president.

As a member of the company's executive council, Rife will play a crucial role shaping future direction for the company, with an especially keen focus on the ownership objective of "remaining a family owned business for generations to come."
"Dave has been a key contributor to the growth and success of White Castle for decades," says White Castle CEO E. W. "Bill" Ingram III.
"He is has an intuitive business sense and a strong dedication to upholding White Castle's vision and values as a family owned business that supports and believes in its team members."
Rife previously held the position of assistant general manager for the White Castle Porcelain Steel Buildings division (PSB), in which he was responsible for oversight of PSB Columbus manufacturing operations. PSB has an impressive list of external clients from key industries such as automotive, appliances, and retail.
Rife is the oldest of the fourth generation of family members who own and operate White Castle. In February, he represented White Castle on the hit CBS show Undercover Boss.
Rife grew up with the White Castle business taking his first job in restaurant operations working behind the restaurant counter while he was still in high school. He is a graduate of the Ohio State University and received his MBA degree from Franklin University.
Taking an active role in community, Rife serves on the board of the Second and Seven Foundation, a charity dedicated to promoting childhood literacy and volunteers his time and talent to Autism Speaks. He lives with his wife, Lynn, and their two sons, Matt and Zach in Delaware, Ohio.

And it isn't even my Birthday...YET!!

Good Morning Cravers!! 
It's Saturday August 7th and here's the NEWS!! 
To the two or three of you folks who have read this blog so far know that I have a birthday coming up and its a few days away tho...I have ALREADY got two really cool gifts...Let me tell you about them!
Gift one:
  It was the day after my terrible encounter at 965 N. High Street White Castle and I was still kind of shaken and was trying to calm my nerves when a LOUD bang came to my door. Cyndi wasn't due yet and my case worker ALWAYS calls first..."WHO IS IT!!" I yelled in my Manliest voice. "Fed-Ex" Came the Reply..."Fed-Ex"? What in tarnation...I opened the door a crack,leaving the chain on to see a friendly,smiling Fed-Ex worker with a HUGE box Marked "White Castle Corporation"
I took the box and ran inside...I was shaking with Glee...I USED to get these packages years ago....and at LAST they found me Again!!!
I ripped the box open and inside was A shirt,Two different hats..a Key ring,cups,cups ,cups,cookbook,magnets and tons and tons of Coupons!!
Made MY day!!
Gift Two.
My Girlfriend is silly! I love her but she's silly. I never know what to expect fromher and that makes her so darn fun! 
Friday the 6th she came to visit and had two grocery bags with her...I didn't pay any attention to them at first because sometimes she carries stuff in grocery bags and sometimes she brings a snack,so I thought nothing of it. She gently shoved the bags into my hand and said "Dewey" told me to get you this (Dewey is my Teddy Bear!) and I opened the bags. Inside was two boxes of Frozen Slyders,two boxes of frozen cheese burger slyders and a three lb. bag of Castles Coffee. Smiling she says "Don't ever say I never get you anything!" and then "Happy Birthday"!! (It's not til Sept. 2nd by the way!)

The picture you see at the right is a 1930s era ad and is from a time that you could get a whole meal at a White Castles for a Quarter.

Hello and welcome to Duane's Slyder Site! My fan site dedicated to America's Greatest Hamburger! I am Duane Richardson a Self Proclaimed "Cravehead" a name I have made to decribe an Over the Top "Craver". I mean, there are Cravers and there are Craveheads. A Cravehead is insatiable...We have to have them at ALL times. We aren't satisfied until we have our beloved "Slyder" in our hands and then inveriatably in our mouths! We eat at Castles all over America. We buy frozen Castles for home as well as Castles Coffee for our home consumption. We have White Castle Memorabilia and clothing and we are on a first name basis with the crew at 1-800-TheCrave. We visit the site, and we have also tried (Many Times) For placement in the Hall of Fame. We know the movie "Harold and Kumar go to White Castle" Memorized and we own a copy of "Selling 'em by the Sack" and the Cook Books (And we use the Recipes too!) 
With that said, On with the site!!

August 4th 2010 I went to one of the WORST Castles in Columbus and am here to WARN all my Fans about it!

I was there August 4th and was appalled. 
Bums lined the walkway in front of the store bumming change and chain smoking cheap hand rolled cigarettes, yelling obscenities to passerby and screaming at customers who refused to give them money. Inside, dirty homeless people drank coffee and harassed customers and complained about everything and one was washing his socks in the sink of the bathroom when I tried to use it. Trash was piled upon table tops and the staff were all sarcastic teens acting like they were way to important to give you burgers and that you were interrupting their valuable time by coming in.
I have arthritis and move slow...and when my order was ready, an overly made up teen hollered my order repeatedly until I went the speed SHE was satisfied with. A homeless person inside started a scene a young man was kicked out (For NO reason) and the Police,EMT and Fire Dept were all called....And this was a SLOW day!!
This place IS and ALWAYS has been Columbus' WORST!!
